ELO is a system where you gain ranking points (ELO) for killing other players in Ranked Deathmatch. When you kill somebody, you can gain between 0 and 5 ELO. When you die, you lose between 0 and 5 ELO. How much you gain or lose depends on the difference between your ELO and the person you killed/were killed by. Usually, high ELO is supposed to denote high skill, but ELO is broken in slay at the moment.

Example: If first player has 2100 elo and second has 2600 elo, the second player has a 96% chance of winning.

ELO equation:

ELOnew=ELOold+5*(1-Wch)
ELOnew = ELO after battle
ELOold = ELO before battle
Wch = Chance of winning (example: 70% = 0.70)

How elo is calculated : Player A has 2600 ELO, and player B has 2400 ELO. 2600-2400 = 200. The 200 point difference means that player A has 92% chance of winning.

  • If player A kills player B, player A get 5*(1-0.76)= 1.2 = 1 ELO.
  • If player B kills player A, player B get 5*(1-0.24)= 3.8 = 3 EL

Player B gets only 3 elo, but will get (3.8+0.8) = 4 ELO from their next kill.
